40th Anniversary WSAL Course in Healthcare Ethics and Philosophy

 

September 8th 2018  40th Anniversary WSAL Course in Healthcare Ethics and Philosophy (places remaining). This course, which leads to The Diploma in Philosophy of Medicine, is run by  one of the livery companies of London, The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, and has been going since 1978. The content of the course is delivered variety of well-known figures in UK bioethics (such as Raanan Gillon and Bill Fulford) and a number of rising stars. As well as seminars on topics as diverse as the ethics of research and the philosophy of health, this course also aims at fostering skills in medical ethics such as case writing and analysis. Many of the students go on higher degrees and publish aspects of their work. The Society also runs a medical philosophy mentoring and discussion group (now in its 5th year) in parallel and 2 public bioethics lectures.
