Call for papers: The New Bioethics special issue: environmental sustainability and bioethics

The New Bioethics: A Multidisciplinary Journal of Biotechnology and the Body is an international, peer-reviewed journal published by Taylor & Francis. The Editorial Board seeks to reclaim bioethics as a diverse and multidisciplinary project. The journal provides a space for dialogue between different perspectives on biotechnology and the human body and offers the chance to find new kinds of common ground.

The journal has invited Cristina Richie, Assistant Professor of the Department of Bioethics and Interdisciplinary Studies at the Brody School of Medicine (East Carolina University), as a guest editor for a special theme issue on environmental sustainability and bioethics. Dr. Richie is the author of Principles of Green Bioethics: Sustainability in Health Care (Michigan State University Press, 2019).

The New Bioethics welcomes contributions from a range of perspectives, including STEAM, law, philosophy, social and political sciences, and theology. The topics of the special issue which will be published in 2020 may include:

artificial intelligence and environmental conservation; the carbon burden of preventable health care conditions; sustainability initiatives in hospitals, analysis of the UK's carbon reduction plan; the carbon impact of medical tourism.

In addition to these subjects, the special issue welcomes all original research on climate change health hazards, green bioethics, eco-feminist approaches to sustainable health care, education and sustainable bioethics, or green gene editing, among others.
